As the lead partner in Aronson LLC’s Nonprofit & Association Services Group, Rob Eby is a strategic leader with more than 25 years of professional experience. He is a results-driven practitioner who specializes in assurance and consulting services for clients that include associations, faith-based organizations, foundations, schools and service organizations.

Rob’s diverse leadership experience spans the professional and personal divide. In addition to his role at Aronson, he was a pastor, an adjunct college professor and a winning high school soccer coach. He also chairs the board of the Aronson Foundation and was a board member of Interfaith Works, a nonprofit that serves the needs of poor and homeless populations in Montgomery County. Formerly an executive for a nonprofit organization, Rob is uniquely qualified to understand the demands of nonprofit accounting and leadership.

As an active participant in the accounting profession, Rob has taught numerous CPE classes and presented financial accounting and auditing topics at events that include the National Business Officers Association’s 2018 Annual Conference, Greater Washington Society of CPA’s Annual Nonprofit Symposium, and Virginia Society of CPA’s Annual Nonprofit Conference, and the Greater Washington Society of CPA’s Annual Nonprofit Symposium.

He was a contributing author to ASAE’s The Financial Management Handbook for Associations and Nonprofits, and the Nonprofit Controllers Manual, published by Warren, Gorham and Lamont, Inc.

Chip Watkins is an attorney with Webster, Chamberlain & Bean, LLP, in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and the Dickinson School of Law, Mr. Watkins served as an attorney in the office of the Associate Chief Counsel (Employee Benefits and Exempt Organizations), Internal Revenue Service, from 1981 through 1985.

Since joining Webster, Chamberlain & Bean in 1986, Mr. Watkins has counselled and represented churches and other religious organizations, trade and professional associations, charities, and other tax-exempt organizations on tax, employee benefits, corporate governance, fundraising, contracts, and other legal and regulatory matters.

Mr. Watkins frequently speaks, writes, and teaches seminars on these and other issues of interest for the Christian Leadership Alliance, and other nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations. He has also been a speaker and writer for the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

Mr. Watkins is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the Christian Leadership Alliance. He is a ruling elder of McLean Presbyterian Church, McLean, Virginia. He and his wife, Margie, have been married since 1983, and have three children.
