He also sits on the board of the Aronson Foundation and is a board member of Interfaith Works, a nonprofit that serves the needs of poor and homeless populations in Montgomery County, MD. He was a contributing author to ASAE’s The Financial Management Handbook for Associations and Nonprofits, and the Nonprofit Controllers Manual.

Since 2010, John has served as a coauthor on the Zondervan Minister’s Tax & Financial Guide and the Zondervan Church and Nonprofit Tax & Financial Guide with Dan Busby and J. Michael Martin. In 2016, the three of them released another book titled The Guide on Charitable Giving for Churches and Ministries. John serves with ECFA as executive vice president and general counsel. In this role he has the joy of co-laboring with church and ministry leaders in the faithful administration of ministry.

Project Bridges Ministry Renewal Forums are held three times per year to address pertinent ministry issues and provide an opportunity to network and obtain strategic updates with government, community and faith-based leaders.
