Fulfilling the Great Commission in a Postmodern Culture

Postmodernism is a term which arose in the second half of the twentieth century. Within a religious context the term is used to describe the anything goes, do what’s right in your own eyes, all roads and religions lead to God philosophies that flood our culture today. Understanding the implications of postmodernism and responding biblically is vital for the Church as it continues its efforts of fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission (Matt 28:16-20). It is imperative that Christian leaders understand this mindset in order to communicate the Gospel in meaningful and effective ways to new generations. Join us as Dr. Clifton Clarke sheds light on this very important topic.

PRESENTER:

Dr. Clifton Clarke

Dr. Clifton Clarke, Associate Professor, Regent University School of Divinity

Dr. Clifton Clarke is the Director of the Center for Global Missions at Regent University. Dr. Clarke describes his theology as “missional” meaning that he interprets his calling to ministry through the lens of a missionary whether it be in his home country of England or anywhere else around the globe. Teaching people to minister in a cross-cultural setting in a way that portrays cultural confidence and proficiency is the goal of his teaching and scholarship. He believes the role of Christian scholars is to address critical issues of our day that pertain to the Christian faith and human existence around the world.
